Emily Irene VanCamp, who initially wanted to become a professional dancer, became interested in the acting field after she visited her sibling Katie at the Ladies Room set. When she was taking acting classes as well, she also got part-time roles in Canadian television series. Her appearances have been in a number of shows, including Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a huge career breakthrough when he was chosen to play Sam Dolan in WB's horror show, the mystery Glory Days. Though receiving positive reviews but the show's low ratings ultimately led to it having to end up being cancelled after only nine episodes. The May 12th, 1986 actress was quickly offered a second part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the major characters. The role she played in the film earned her the film four Teen Choice Awards nominations and a Young Artist Award.
